About Redwood Path Advisory

Independent business model advisory for niche operators, based in Taichung since 2018.

Registered business

Redwood Path Advisory is the official registered business name under which we provide advisory services. We were established in 2018 in Taichung, Taiwan, to serve specialist operators who needed practical help refining how they earn and deliver — not generic corporate consulting.

How we began

Founder Lin Wei-Hung spent twelve years advising family-run food businesses and neighbourhood retail before opening Redwood Path. Clients kept asking the same questions: which custom orders to accept, how to price rush work, whether to hire a second person or cap bookings. Large consulting firms offered slide decks; operators needed someone who understood ingredient costs, studio rent, and the rhythm of Lunar New Year demand.

Redwood Path started as a one-person practice from a shared office near Taichung Park. By 2020, repeat referrals from florists, bakers, and studio owners led us to formalise our audit process. We remain intentionally small — two senior advisors and a part-time research associate — so every engagement receives direct attention.

Our approach

We begin with how you actually work: your calendar, your materials, your client conversations. Recommendations must be implementable by a team that does not include a CFO or marketing department. We favour written clarity over lengthy workshops, and we document assumptions so you can revisit decisions six months later.

Who we serve

Niche operators across Taiwan and the wider Asia-Pacific region — businesses with deep craft expertise and a specific audience. Recent engagements include wedding florists in Taichung, a small-batch jam producer in Nantou, a boutique barre studio in Taipei, and a heritage craft workshop in Tainan.

Values

Honesty about fit. We decline engagements where advisory work will not help — for example, when the primary challenge is unresolved partnership conflict.

Respect for craft. Your skill in your field is the foundation. We do not ask you to become something you are not.

Local grounding. Taiwan’s seasons, neighbourhoods, and payment habits shape every recommendation.
